Meditation

I know there is a Power for Good which is responding to me and bringing into my experience everything that is necessary to my unfoldment, to my happiness, to my peace, to my health, and to my success. I know there is a Power for Good that enables me to help others and to bless the whole world.

So I say quietly to myself:

There is One Life, that Life is God, that Life is perfect, that Life is my Life now.

It is flowing through me, circulating in me.

I am one with the rhythm.

My heart beats with the pulsation of the Universe, in serenity, in peace and in joy.

My whole physical being is animated by Divine Spirit, and if there is anything in it that does not belong, it cases out because there is only One Perfect Life in me now.

And I say to myself:

I am daily guided so that I shall know what to do under every circumstance, in every situation. Divine Intelligence guides me in Love, in Joy and in complete self expression.

Desiring that the Law of Good alone shall control me, I bless and prosper everything I am doing;

I multiply every activity;

I accept and expect happiness and complete success.

Realising that I am one with all people, I affirm that there is a silent Power flowing through me and them, which blesses and heals and prospers, makes happy and joyful pathway.

And realising that the world is made up of people like myself, I bless the world and affirm that it shall come under the Divine Government of Good, under Divine Providence of Love and under Divine Leadership of the Supreme Intelligence.

“For Thine is the Kingdom, the Power and the Glory, for ever. Amen”

The Value of True Thoughtlessness

What happens when we truly quiet the mind and let stillness guide us?

I recently took part in an experiment to do with self-awareness.

Part of this experiment was to become increasingly aware of how often one is thinking (be it pondering, day-dreaming, stressing or obsessing), and to what extent that thinking was constructive.

Thought itself enjoys a greatly elevated status in our civilisation, amongst many others, going right back to ancient times. We tend to always view the process of thinking in a positive light, implying that those who do not think are somehow “less than”, and bowing down to “the great thinkers” of past and present alike.

Having now taken part in this experiment, I place awareness and presence much higher on my personal scale of values than I do thinking, as I have found that one’s awareness of themselves and their present situation is far more useful than one’s somewhat arbitrary ability to think.

The Truth about Freedom

A parable to ponder on

“Why, when God's world is so big,

Did you fall asleep in a prison

Of all places?“ – Rumi

FreedomThere was once a man who was confined to a dungeon.

He was put in the dungeon from a very young age for reasons even he didn’t really know, and had been there so long, that he no longer had any awareness of a world outside of his cell.

There was a thin, lumpy mattress sitting on a steel base that was fixed to the wall, as well as a rudimentary latrine in the corner, and little else in the small space within the walls and bars to which this man was confined.

He had taken to playing a game involving the uneven, sometimes jagged surface of the walls and the floor to amuse himself most days; it was a game which would not make any sense to anyone outside of the dungeon, but would captivate this man for most of his waking hours.

One day a woman appeared at the door of his cell.

“I have come to release you,” she said, as she opened the door.

“What do you mean?” He asked.

“You’ve been trapped inside of this dungeon for so long. It’s time for you to step out and experience the world for all that it is,” she replied.

But the man was unaware of the existence of a world outside, and the idea of such was more frightening to him than it was liberating.

Is the mainstream media making us sick?

How to maintain a steady ship in an ocean of fear, panic and macula degeneration

There are a great deal of ads, shows and news stories being thrust out to the public across all mediums these days telling us of all the dangers in society – what foods are bad for us, how many ways smoking can kill us, how dangerous the roads are, why it’s not safe to walk around the city at night – the list goes on and on. Recently I saw an ad telling me that I could already be going blind, I just didn’t know it yet. That’s odd. I would’ve thought that if I were going blind, something would have tipped me off by now.

For the most part, these warnings come from people and organisations genuinely concerned for our welfare. The problem is that they are all unconsciously adding fuel to a collective creative force that manifests without discrimination. What we believe, we conceive. The more we believe in rising violence, road tolls and illness, the more we create it.

Our society’s phenomenal ability to create without limits has long been hijacked and used as a fear factory that has served to control and manipulate the population and the time has come to reclaim this power and start creating that change we all wish to see in the world.

Redefining Religion in the Enlightened Age

In a time of recycled fashion and recycled music, it’s time to give religion a second look

These days, everything is getting a 21st century make-over, be it music from the sixties, fashion from the seventies or interior design from the eighties (too soon? Wait for it...)

To make a successful resurgence, most things need something new, a new beat or a new way to wear an old dress. We’re constantly growing and evolving, so for something from our past to remain harmonious in our current society, it too needs to evolve.

Organised religion, for the most part, is not a fan of evolution...pun intended.
